Tuyoor & Taoos: the flock of birds are welcomed by the peacock at Kiyaara
As the sun began to set, a flock of birds soared across the sky, their wings beating in perfect harmony. They had been flying for days, following a mysterious pull towards a place they had never been before. It was as if they were being called home.
Finally, they reached their destination - a lush green field filled with beds of colourful flowers releasing their sweet fragrance. This was Kiyaara, the land they had heard so much about. The birds landed gracefully, their feathers ruffling in the gentle breeze.
As they settled in, a magnificent peacock approached them, his feathers shimmering in the fading sunlight. "Welcome to Kiyaara," he said, bowing his head respectfully. "What brings you to our humble abode?"
The leader of the flock stepped forward and replied, "We have come bearing a precious jewel, the Jewel of Faith, entrusted to us by our ancestors. We seek a place to keep it safe from the thief who seeks to steal it - Jealousy."
The peacock was puzzled and asked how jealousy could steal the jewel of faith. The birds replied that jealousy could make one doubt their faith and cause them to lose their trust in themselves, others, and ultimately, in their faith.
The peacock was concerned and asked how they could protect the jewel from jealousy. The birds advised that the best way to protect the jewel was to have a strong belief in oneself and their faith. They told the peacock that one should never let jealousy cloud their judgment and always trust and have faith that each one was blessed with a different virtue and that no person was blessed with everything. Therefore, when one saw another possess something enviable, they should only try and find something within their own selves which they were grateful for and could in a healthy way try and cultivate what the other had without being envious of them.
